I agree. I just heard about this tool in a TechSherpas class. If I would have had this 2 years ago I would have been much further along as a developer.

Can this tool edit and save changes, (using v2)? I want to edit Task property ows_WorkflowVersion.
How are changes saved?

+++ Quick Steps +++

Hi, one of the most important and helpful Tools for SharePoint Admins.
Looks like new users run again and again into the same problems, so therefor, here are some first necessary steps:

- SharePoint Manager 2010 Needs to run on the machine, where the SharePoint Server or Foundation is installed and running.

- It is NOT possible to run the SharePoint Manager on a remote machine (like a couple of users want to try, e.g. on a Windows 7, or even on a 32bit machin).

- SharePoint Manager 2010 NEEDS to be started as Administrator, so be sure to right-click on the SharePoint Manager exe, and choose, "Run ad Admin"!

- The most importand thing, when managed to start SharePoint Manager:
BE VERY, VERY, VERY CAREFUL on what you are doing!
--> When renaming or deleting thins, there is NO UNDO function available!
--> YOu are working directly on the SQL-Database, so if you have at least a Little doubt, whether or not you should change anything - then DON'T DO IT! Making changes within SharePoint Manager is LIVE and DIRECT. No filter in between :-)

Have Fun using this great tool!

Do you have to run on a SharePoint server? I couldn't run it from Win7 box.
